Individual director assessments, when implemented carefully, can provide a re-invigoration of your board and help to improve the culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Rather than attempting to measure each director against some theoretical ‘ideal director’, the Cameron Ralph Individual Director Assessment is designed to assess each director’s contribution to the five critical elements that drive a board’s effectiveness.
Our experience is that this process is most effectively and efficiently done in conjunction with a whole of board performance assessment. This avoids some duplication and more importantly, enables individual directors to see their own performance in relation to how the whole board is working – i.e. are they contributing effectively to the whole.
